Fourth Suspect Arrested In New Brunswick Robbery, Murder Attempt

A fourth suspect in an armed robbery last month in New Brunswick was arrested in Pennsylvania assistance from U.S. Marshals, authorities said

James Ward, 21, of Highland Park was arrested in Wilkes Barre, Pa., Wednesday, Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Christopher L.C. Kuberiet and New Brunswick Police Director Anthony A. Caputo said.

A 27-year-old New Brunswick man was found injured outside the apartments at 99 Phelps Avenue and was treated at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for a gunshot wound, authorities said.

Further details were not released.

Three other suspects previously were arrested in the shooting:

  • Robert Zucker, 33, of Monmouth Junction, was charged with attempted murder and robbery on May 20
  • A 17-year-old juvenile was charged with armed robbery on May 21
  • Jada Gibbs, 21, of New Brunswick, also was charged with armed robbery on May 22

Ward awaits extradition to New Jersey, authorities said.
